The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Uranium Mining-Not This Time!
Not only are the hills of Donegal in Ireland renowned for their rugged and beautiful scenery but they also expected to have significant deposits of uranium
Irish Minister for Natural Resources has refused exploration licenses to two mining companies much to the satisfaction of the green party.
Ireland does not allow nuclear generators to operate in the country and is vocal in its objections to mainland Britain’s nuclear powered electricity generators, particularly those bordering the Irish Sea.
Understandable that they do not want to detract from the beauty of the area that will affect the revenue derived from tourists but denying the nuclear option leaves Ireland with no viable option but to keep burning fossil fuels that add to the ever increasing problems of global warming and pollution. So that’s alright then!
